Digital Catalog Documenting Shelter 209 Activities
The Shelter 209 for the Advancement of Interdisciplinary Art in Israel is founded by performance artists Tamar Raban, Dan Zakhem, and Anat Shcen. In the early years, the Platform hosts a series of art events.
After the death of Dan Zakhem, Tamar Raban continues the work of Shelter 209 by creating the Dress Trilogy, a series of multi-participant performances exhibited in Israel and abroad.
Ensemble 209 is established under the artistic direction of Tamar Raban.
The ensemble develops a unique theatrical performance language and presents yearly productions.
The Shelter 209 non profit organization establishes the Performance Art Platform (PAP) – the realization of Raban's and Zakhem's dream, a home for ensemble 209, an annual performance workshop, and wide-ranging activities in collaboration with diverse artists.
The International Zaz Festival for Performance Art was established and held each year in the Performance Art Platform and additional venues, with many participating artists from Israel and abroad.
The Shelter 209 non profit organization continues to act and create while combining artistic, academic and research activities, forever on the path of investigation and motion.
